Finding the Write Way

My blog has been languishing for far too long. The problem is that I never know what to write about (that I don’t already cover in my newsletter.) I’ve decided to talk about my relationship with writing craft–what I’m learning and thinking and tackling.

I don’t expect this to be of interest to readers, though if you’re strictly a reader and this does interest you, then yay! I’m not even completely sure writers will benefit, since I don’t intend to write lectures. In my mind, this is going to be a bit of rambling ruminations–working out what I’m thinking on the page.

Oh man, even just reading what I wrote I’m like, “And why, exactly, do you want to spend your time doing that?”

Because maybe as I try to decide if I’m on the path or in the weeds, maybe you’ll get some perspective too. Maybe you’ll reach out to me and say, “Yeah,” or even, “What the fuck?” Or maybe you’ll just chuckle and click away.

Either way, I’m putting this out into the universe, for my clarification and the flitter of hope that it might help another writer–struggling or soaring with their craft journey too.

I’m not going to do any heavy editing, because that’s not where I want to sink my time, so apologies up front! Even now, there’s a little voice in my head telling me that I’m switching in and out of direct address in a loosey-goosey way, and I should go back and decide and fix. But I won’t. Because you need to know what you’re (maybe) getting into.

Thanks for reading thus far and for visiting my site. You have no idea how much it means to me (even though I’m a writer and you’d think I could at least attempt a way to articulate it). Nope, this is a tell-don’t-show situation.

Which almost leads me to my first installment . . . coming out tomorrow.
